who we are

Health literacy is a stronger predictor of health outcomes than income, employment stats, education, or race/ethnicity.

We at Morning Sign Out: UCLA Chapter are seeking to improve health literacy and guide a new generation of medical practitioners to achieve their goal of becoming physicians. By joining our organization, you can help both aspects of this mission come to fruition.

As a society, there is a large divide between the world of medicine and science and that of the greater public. Often, the relationship between the two is strained and distrustful. This endeavor aims to bridge that divide.

By publishing concise, easy-to-read articles, we are hoping to educate the greater public on how to take better care of themselves, hopefully leading to a healthier, happier generation. By joining our staff as a Writer or Editor, you can play a crucial role in ending this billion-dollar issue.

However, this program is not only helpful for the greater public. As a pre-med student seeking to keep up-to-date with the rapid developments that are occurring every day in the medical field, or a pre-health student interested in learning more about a particular subject, this information may sound foreign. Our job is to make this information readily available and in a manner that allows students to grasp the material.
